From Well Plated
2. Chocolate Almond Banana Smoothie
This smoothie has a couple of things in common with some of my other favorite smoothie recipes on the site. It starts with oats, which the blender finely grinds and incorporates into the smoothie to thicken its texture and boost its nutrients. It also includes frozen fruit — bananas, to be exact — which naturally sweeten the smoothie while eliminating the need for ice.

11. Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
I haven’t made a smoothie in quite some time, I’ve been too busy making ice creams, cakes, and brownies! To be honest, I like baking so much more than dumping a few ingredients in a blender and drinking it. Boooring. It’s way more fun frosting some cakes, slicing them and handing them out to people. You can’t really share a smoothie and they don’t often get a lot of “presentation points.” Especially this Healthy Chocolate Peanut Butter Oatmeal Smoothie. It looks a bit like brown sludge, but after one sip you’ll realize it’s delicious sludge.

12. Apple Banana Smoothie
Apple is not particularly common in smoothies as it seems some people find it gritty. However I’ve had success before in my wild blueberry apple crumble smoothie bowl when I combined it with oats and yogurt. I think the added thickening of the oats helps avoid any gritty taste.
The same is true here, but with the banana as well, it makes a deliciously naturally sweet smoothie. A pinch of cinnamon adds that warm taste of fall to this Apple Banana Smoothie recipe.

14. Strawberry Spinach Green Smoothie
To make the smoothie I used a frozen banana, some fresh strawberries, a couple of cups of baby spinach (fresh not frozen), unsweetened almond milk, plain non fat Greek yogurt, vanilla extract, honey for added sweetness, and ice to make it nice and frosty. I stuck all the ingredients in my blender and in seconds I had the greenest smoothie I had ever seen! I bravely took a sip and the next thing I knew I had drank the whole glass. It felt good knowing that on top of getting a couple servings of fruit for the day I also had a serving of vegetables thanks to all that spinach! So if you’ve never had a green smoothie or are looking for a new recipe give this a try I promise the flavor greatly surpasses the not so tempting color!

15. Raspberry and Peach Smoothie
If you have never made a smoothie (although I really doubt that) the best thing is that for preparation, you really don’t need more than 5 minutes and a little imagination. As for me, my raspberry and peach smoothie has only three ingredients: fruit, Greek yoghurt and honey.
16. Apple Blueberry Banana Green Smoothie
You are supposed to eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables each day to meet you vitamin, mineral and fiber needs. Even though the best way to consume all the vitamins is to simply eat them, a lot of people don’t have the time or can’t handle the taste. Especially with kids and toddlers it can get a little frustrating providing them with a balanced diet.

I love starting my morning with a smoothie. I am always one to have a sweet tooth, so smoothies are a great way to satisfy my sweet tooth with something a little healthier. They’re a great way to start the day because they are filling, delicious, and often better for you than the high sugared cereals, or pancakes smothered in syrup that we might be eating instead.

22. Beauty Boosting Smoothie
Berries are full of antioxidants and vitamin C which help protect skin from free radicals which can cause skin cancer. Vitamin C also increases elastin and collagen and keeps your skin hydrated.
Blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries contain fatty acids that can improve the smoothness of your skin and decrease inflammation. And bananas have vitamins A, C, and E, which heal and protect skin and slow the aging process.
You know what they say – a berry smoothie a day will keep the dermatologist away! (Is that a saying? No? Well, it really should be).

One of the best things about smoothies is that there really are no limits to what you can do with them. From light and fruity to rich and creamy, the variations are absolutely endless. Another great thing about them is that they’re like dessert, but much healthier.
No matter what your favorite dessert is, from a banana split to pumpkin pie, you can whip up a smoothie version of it in minutes. Throw a few things in the blender, hit the button, and boom! Dessert in a glass.

25. Cherry Beet Smoothie
Over the course of this last spring and summer, I kind of forgot beets existed. Then I bought a few on a whim and decided to roast a few for dinner one night. That was the moment I realized I’m head over heels for beets.

In the recipe, I’ve put that I sweetened my smoothie with agave. This is totally down to personal preference and how sweet your mangoes are. You may not need any sweetener at all and you can also use honey, sugar or sweetener.
